We are pleased to officially announce that Cheri Ricke has been awarded the Grand Prize for the 2018 Kpreps Friday Night Photo Contest.

Cheri’s winning photo captures players warming up in front of an incredible sunset prior to the second-round playoff game between Argonia-Attica and Udall. Argonia-Attica went on to win the game, 42-36, to advance to the state quarterfinals. Udall had defeated the Titans, 22-14 during their regular season matchup.

“We receive so many great photos each season, and the 2018 season was no exception,” Kpreps’ Managing Partner Matt Gilmore said. “Cheri’s photo is one of the more unique shots we’ve received in the nine years of hosting this contest. The silhouettes of the players and coaches against the backdrop of a beautiful Kansas sunset is so visually appealing, you feel as if you are standing there on the sideline watching.”

“Selecting a winning photograph is difficult each season,” said Kpreps’ Managing Partner Andy Wachter. “Photographers across our state continue to amaze us with the quality of their photos submissions. We feel the photos that this contest allows us to feature is vital in telling the stories of Kansas high school football each season.”

Cheri wins $500 cash for her 2018 winning photograph.
