Now that our friends at Kansas Pregame have released their 2018 edition digitally, we can officially announce that Steve Rosebrough has been awarded the Grand Prize for the 2017 Kpreps Friday Night Photo Contest.

Rosebrough’s winning photo captures Frontenac’s Broc Ginavan trying to elude a block to knock down a pass from Girard quarterback Ty Norris. Frontenac broke open the game with 27 unanswered points to win the CNC League matchup, 33-6.

“There were so many great photo submissions during the 2017 season,” Kpreps’ Managing Partner Matt Gilmore said. “But we love it when we get the opportunity to feature the guys in the trenches. Steve’s photo captures the often underappreciated importance of the work the offensive and defensive lines to in allowing for the development or the disruption of each play.”

“Selecting a winning photograph gets more and more difficult each season,” said Kpreps’ Managing Partner Andy Wachter. “But the exposure the photographers across our state provide for players through the Friday Night Photo Contest continues to be a vital piece in allowing Kpreps to tell the story of each high school football season.”

Rosebrough wins $500 cash for his 2017 winning photograph. The winning photo was announced and featured on pages 96 and 150 in the 2018 edition of Kansas Pregame Magazine.

The Kpreps Friday Night Photo Contest back again for the 2018 season. "We enjoy seeing photos from around the state each week and it really helps us with our coverage," said Kpreps' Managing Partner Matt Gilmore.
