Check back next Thursday to see our picks for Week 6, and how the players performed that we picked the week prior. See the bottom of this article for details.
Jafar Armstrong, WR, Bishop Miege (Clisso)
After an all-state season as a sophomore in 2014, Armstrong has returned as one of the top receivers in the state. Through four games, Armstrong (6-1, 190) has 24 receptions for 456 yards and six touchdowns. Last season, Armstrong had 53 receptions for 1,205 yards and nine scores. The Stags will take on EKL rival Blue Valley West this week.
Columbus Offensive Line (Schremmer)
Class 4A Division II's top-ranked Columbus Titans have jumped out to a 4-0 record. The hogs up front have played a big role in an offense that is producing on the ground and in the air. Columbus is averaging 547 yards and 55 points a game. The Titans have rushed for 1,482 yards and have passed for 706. Columbus' offensive line is creating big enough holes for running back Jace McDown to be averaging 15.5 yards a carry and is giving quarterback Trey Robinson enough time in the pocket for him to complete 29 of 31 passes. Expect more of the same when the Titans host Riverton on Friday.
Wykeen Gill, QB, Atchison (Gilmore)
Gill is an explosive athlete for the unbeaten Redmen. The 6-foot, 170-pound senior has completed 64 percent of his passes this season for 696 yards and ten touchdowns. He’s been heavily involved in the running game having put up 494 yards and seven more scores while averaging an even 15 yards per carry. If Gill performs as consistently as he has all year, Atchison could be 5-0 after Friday’s game at KC Schlagle (3-1).
Clayton Herdman, QB, La Crosse (Nicholl)
La Crosse has relied heavily on the run this season, especially with junior quarterback Clayton Herdman. He has 70 rushes for 395 yards and four scores for the 2-2 Leopards. Herdman has 27 more carries than any other Leopard. Herdman has completed 16 of 37 passes for 255 yards with a 2/2 TD/INT ratio. La Crosse opens play at Ellis. Herdman will have to perform at a high level for the Leopards to win.
Christian Ozores, DB, Junction City (Baetz)
Ozores is one of 10 returning defensive starters who have helped Junction City roll over their first four opponents. But those opponents have combined for just one win through the first four weeks, and an upstart Washburn Rural team is sure to provide a better test this week. Ozores, a three-year starter and two-time All Centennial League performer, has accounted for 23 tackles, a tackle for loss, and an interception this season. He will need to have a big game if the Blue Jays are to stay undefeated.
Darraja Parnell, WR, Andover Central (Kuplen)
Parnell, a Central Arkansas basketball commit, has exploded for another big year for the Jaguars. He has 20 receptions for 563 yards and eight touchdowns after four weeks. Despite missing starting quarterback Peyton Huslig last week, he hauled in six catches for 271 yards and five touchdowns from back-up quarterback Cole Taylor. Expect another big week against Goddard-Eisenhower this week.
Week 4 Picks to Click results (scoring):
Blake Beckett, RB, Halstead – Beckett carried 16 times for 243 yards and two touchdowns as part of a 42-0 Dragon win over Smoky Valley. (Baetz – 36 pts)
Blue Valley Offensive Line – Blue Valley racked up 321 total yards and five touchowns, including 231 yards on the ground in their 47-14 win over Blue Valley Southwest. A punt return and fumble return for touchdowns took further scoring chances away from the Tiger offense. (Clisso – 21 pts)
Paul Holt, DE, Burlingame – Holt registered 18 total tackles, including two sacks and a fumble recovery in the Bearcats 60-32 win over Waverly. (Gilmore – 44 pts)

Pittsburg Offensive Line – Pittsburg churned out 391 yards of total offense and seven offensive touchdowns in a 56-13 rout of Chanute. The offensive line paved the way for Sherrick Rogers’ 228 rushing yards and five touchdowns. (Kuplen – 28 pts)
Sharon Springs-Wallace County O-Line – The Wildcat line paved the way for 468 yards of total offense and six touchdowns in the 48-18 win over Hoxie. (Nicholl – 27 pts)
