Kpreps.com and Kansas-Sports are proud to partner with the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association (KBCA) to release the KBCA rankings for the 2013-14 high school basketball season.
 
Basketball coaches around the state are encouraged to visit the KBCA's website, http://www.kansaskbca.com, to register as a 2013 member and participate throughout the season.

Girls Basketball - December 8th Rankings

In Class 6A, the top five stays unchanged. Three newcomers enter the poll in the No. 8-10 spots as Blue Valley, Wichita Northwest, and Topeka High were all unranked a week ago. Previous No. 6 Garden City took the biggest fall dropping out of the top ten after two losses at the Hays City Shootout.

Previously unranked Bishop Carroll made a big move in Class 5A after handing previous No. 2 Wichita Heights a 46-37 loss last week. The Eagles are No. 6 this week while Heights dropped from No. 2 to No. 7.

In Class 4A Division I, the top ten teams stay the same with a subtle shift in the rankings. McPherson dropped from No. 4 to No. 8 this week while everyone else in the poll besides No. 9 Coffeyville and No. 10 Louisburg moves up a spot.

Holton and Wichita Trinity moved out of the top five in 4A Division II after losses last week. Holton fell to 4A-I No. 1 Wamego while Trinity lost to Class 3A No. 7 Garden Plain. Colby and Frontenac move into the top five at No. 4 and No. 5 respectively.

Classes 3A and 2A were virtually unchanged this week. In 2A, Central Plains and Republic Co. swapped the No. 9 and No. 10 spot.

Caldwell fell from No. 3 to No. 5 in Class 1A Division I after a ten point loss to 1A-II No. 9 South Barber. Valley Heights and Linn each moved up a spot. The rest of 1A-I, as well as all of Class 1A Division II remained unchanged.
