Picks to Click -- Final Fantasy Standings

In our 2020 Picks to Click feature, we selected several players or units from across the state each week that we felt would have breakout performances. We assembled a team of media members to select one player (or unit) each week and tracked the cumulative statistics of our selections throughout the season similar to fantasy scoring. 

The final standings for the season are as follows:

Top ten weekly performances for Picks to Click this season:

  1. Colton McCarty, QB, Cheylin – 95 points in Week 1 (Maycock)

    McCarty passed for 302 yards and six touchdowns and added 118 yards and three scores on the ground in the Cougars’ 61-6 win over Golden Plains.
  1. Lance Hoffsommer, QB, Sedgwick – 77 points in Week 6 (Kuplen)

    Hoffsommer passed for 290 yards and four touchdowns and added 127 yards and two scores in the Cardinals’ 42-21 win over Whitewater-Remington.
  1. Charlie Killingsworth, QB, Rock Creek – 75 points in Week 6 (Maycock)

In the Mustangs' 60-12 rout of Jefferson West, Killingsworth threw for 358 yards and five touchdowns and added another 46 yards and a touchdown rushing.   

  1. Isaac Detweiler, QB, Axtell – 72 points in Week 7 (Maycock)

In a 58-12 win over Wetmore, Detweiler threw for 267 yards and five touchdowns and ran for 47 yards and two more scores in just one half of play.

  1. Dylan Bice, QB, Thunder Ridge – 71 points in Week 5 (Schremmer)

Bice continued his strong sophomore campaign by completing 8 of 10 passes for 132 yards and four touchdowns, while rushing for 166 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries.

  1. Isaac Salmans, QB, Hodgeman County – 67 points in Week 3 (Gilmore)

Salmans rushed for 134 yards and four touchdowns and passed for 187 yards and two more scores as the Longhorns beat Bucklin, 60-14.
 

  1. Tyler Bowden, RB, Tonganoxie – 64 points in Week 1 (Clisso)

Bowden had an exceptional debut with the Chieftains in rushing for 317 yards and five touchdowns as Tonganoxie won 62-28 at Basehor-Linwood. He also caught a pair of passes for 34 yards in the win.  
 

  1. Kade Harris, QB, Thomas More Prep – 62 points in Week 8 (Nicholl)

    Harris passed for 262 yards and four touchdowns and added 65 yards rushing and a score in the 46-14 win over Lakin in Week 8.


Kyler Semrad, QB, Goddard – 62 points in Week 7 (Schremmer)

The senior quarterback helped the Lions improve to a 6-1 record with a 36-18 win over Salina Central. Semrad completed 20 of 30 passes for 271 yards and four touchdowns. He added 56 rushing yards and a touchdown.


Harrison Voth, QB, Cheney – 62 points in Week 5 (Boston)

Voth passed for 322 yards and five touchdowns in the Cardinals’ 42-0 win over Pratt.

 

Week 8 Picks to Click results (scoring):

Landon Boss, QB, Osage City – Boss passed for 130 yards and three touchdowns and added 62 yards rushing and two scores as the Indians beat Humboldt 39-8 in Week 8. (Kuplen – 49 pts)

Henry Burns, WR, Sedgwick – Burns had eight catches for 116 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 12 yards in Sedgwick’s 41-35 loss to Conway Springs in Week 8. (Gilmore – 24 pts)

Adam Callahan, LB, Baldwin – Callahan had nine tackles, two sacks and two blocked punts in Baldwin’s 40-6 win over Osawatomie in Week 8. (Maycock – 26 pts)

Kylan Cunningham, QB, Lakeside-Downs – Cunningham rushed for 126 yards and three touchdowns and passed for 78 more yards and a score in the Knights’ 52-6 win over Blue Valley Randolph in Week 8. (Boston – 43 pts)

Kade Harris, QB, Thomas More Prep – Harris passed for 262 yards and four touchdowns and added 65 yards rushing and a score in the 46-14 win over Lakin in Week 8. (Nicholl – 62 pts)

Josh Sanders, RB, Maize – Sanders rushed for 138 yards and two touchdowns in Maize’s 32-28 loss to Hutchinson in Week 8. (Hammeke – 25 pts)

Isaac Stanton, QB, Basehor-Linwood – Stanton passed for 158 yards and three touchdowns in the Bobcats’ 27-10 win over Pittsburg. (Schremmer – 33 pts)

Garrett Williams, QB, Paola – Williams rushed for 142 yards and two touchdowns and passed for 11 yards in the Panthers’ 49-7 win over Louisburg. (Clisso – 27 pts)


2020 Picks to Click Rules

- The objective will be to have the most cumulative points over the course of the season.

- Participants may select a quarterback, running back, WR/TE, offensive line or a defensive player each week.

- Everyone must pick a WR/TE, offensive line and defensive player at least once.

- Points will be rewarded only for the player's offensive or defensive stats, depending on how you designate the player that week. For instance, if you pick a running back then you will not receive any of his points for defense.


Scoring system

QBs/RBs/WRs/TEs

- 1 point for every 10 yards passing, rushing or receiving from a quarterback, running back or wide receiver

- 6 points for every passing, rushing or receiving touchdown

Offensive line

- 1 point for every 50 yards gained as an offense

- 3 points for every offensive touchdown

Defensive player

- 2 points for every tackle

- 4 points for every INT, sack or fumble recovery
