Class 3A:
District 1 – Nemaha Central has clinched the district title with wins over Sabetha and Riverside. Riverside will travel to Sabetha this week with the winner advancing as the District 1 runner-up and earning a road playoff game at Maur Hill-Mount Academy.
Hiawatha (2-6; 0-2) at Nemaha Central (8-0; 2-0)
Riverside (2-6; 1-1) at Sabetha (7-1; 1-1)
District 2 – Maur Hill-Mount Academy has clinched the District 2 championship with wins over Pleasant Ridge and Maranatha Academy. The Rams and the Eagles will meet this week with the winner qualifying as the district runner-up.

Maranatha Academy (2-6; 1-1) at Pleasant Ridge (3-5; 1-1)
District 3 – Oskaloosa is the only team that can’t finish in the top two in District 3. Silver Lake is unbeaten in district play and at home with Royal Valley. Royal Valley can secure a playoff spot with at least a 21-point victory over Silver Lake. The Panthers are district champs if they beat Silver Lake and Perry-Lecompton loses to Oskaloosa. Perry-Lecompton can secure a playoff spot by beating Oskaloosa.

Oskaloosa (3-5; 0-2) at Perry-Lecompton (5-3; 1-1)
District 4 – St. Marys has clinched a playoff spot as even if the Bears lose at Mission Valley they will finish in the top two teams in the district’s margin points. Defending champion Rossville needs at least an 19-point victory over Council Grove and a Mission Valley loss in order to get a chance at defending its title. The Bulldawgs haven’t missed the playoffs since 2001. Mission Valley is the district champions with a win over St. Marys coupled with a Rossville victory over Council Grove. The Vikings can clinch a playoff spot by beating St. Marys by at least 8 points. Council Grove needs a win at Rossville and to root for a St. Marys win over Mission Valley.

St. Marys (5-3; 2-0) at Mission Valley (5-3; 1-1)
District 5 – Wellsville has clinched the District 5 championship with wins over Osage City and West Franklin. The Indians and the Falcons will meet this week to decide the district runner-up spot.
Central Heights (0-8; 0-2) at Wellsville (7-1, 2-0)
West Franklin (3-5; 1-1) at Osage City (6-2; 1-1)
District 6 – Three teams are still vying for two playoff spots in District 6. Jayhawk-Linn is the district’s unbeaten team at 2-0. The Jayhawks can clinch the title by beating Erie at home. Erie can win the title with a win over Jayhawk-Linn and a Northeast win over Humboldt. Humboldt qualifies with a victory over winless Northeast-Arma.

Humboldt (6-2; 1-1) at Northeast-Arma (0-8; 0-2)
District 7 – Galena has clinched a playoff spot as even if the Bulldogs lose against Riverton they will finish in the top two teams in the district’s margin points. Cherryvale can clinch a playoff spot by beating winless Southeast by at least 20 points. Even Southeast can get in with at least a 21-point victory over Cherryvale coupled with a Riverton loss to Galena by at least 20 points.

Southeast-Cherokee (0-6; 0-2) at Cherryvale (6-2; 1-1)
District 8 – Caney Valley has clinched the District 8 championship with wins over Neodesha and Eureka. The Blue Streaks and the Tornadoes will meet this week to decide the district runner-up spot.

Eureka (3-5; 1-1) at Neodesha (4-4; 1-1)
District 9 – Douglass has clinched a playoff spot as even if the Bulldogs lose at Leon-Bluestem they will finish in the top two teams in the district’s in margin points. Bluestem can still claim the district title with a win and a Belle Plaine loss to Independent. Even Independent can get in with at least an 11-point victory over Belle Plaine and a Bluestem loss to Douglass.

Douglass (2-6; 2-0) at Leon-Bluestem (3-5; 1-1)
District 10 – Conway Springs has clinched a playoff spot as even if the Cardinals lost at home to Chaparral they will finish in the top two teams in the districts in margin points. Chaparral can claim the district title by beating Conway Springs and a Garden Plain win over Cheney. Cheney can claim the district title with a 21-point win over Garden Plain and a Conway Springs loss by 21 or more points. Garden Plain can also get in with a win by at least 12 points over Cheney coupled with a Chaparral loss to Conway Springs.

District 11 – Halstead is in good shape entering Week 9 after a 2-0 district start. The Dragons should qualify for the playoffs as long as they don’t lose to Sterling by 21 or more points. If Sterling beats Halstead by 21 and Hutchinson Trinity beats Haven by 21 or more, we could have a three-way tie atop the standings and have to bring in some more complex tie-breaking methods. The same could be necessary if Haven pulls a 21-point shocker over Trinity and Sterling loses by 21 to Halstead.

District 12 – Marion and Hesston have already qualified for the two playoff spots. The Warriors and Swathers will meet in Marion with the winner getting the district championship and the loser the runner-up spot.
Hillsboro (1-7; 0-2) at Southeast of Saline (3-5; 0-2)
Hesston (5-3; 2-0) at Marion (7-1; 2-0)
District 13 – Riley County and Marysville will be the two playoff teams from District 13. The Falcons and Bulldogs will meet in Marysville with the winner qualifying as the district champion and the loser as the runner-up.

Beloit (5-3; 0-2) at Minneapolis (2-6; 0-2)
District 14 – Phillipsburg has already clinched the district championship after beating Norton and Thomas More Prep. Norton and TMP will meet in Norton with the winner qualifying as the District 14 runner-up.
Phillipsburg (8-0; 2-0) at Russell (4-4; 0-2)
Thomas More Prep (3-5; 1-1) at Norton (6-2; 1-1)
District 15 – Three teams are still in contention for two playoff spots in District 15. Larned can wrap up a district title with a win at home over Ellsworth. Meanwhile, an Ellsworth win at Larned coupled with a Lyons upset of Hoisington would give the Bearcats the district title. To simply secure a playoff spot, Ellsworth must beat Larned by at least 14 points. Hoisington can ensure a postseason berth with at least an 8-point victory over Lyons.

District 16 – Cimarron has already clinched the district championship after beating Lakin and Syracuse. Lakin will meet iSyracuse with the winner qualifying as the District 16 runner-up.

Syracuse (3-5; 1-1) at Lakin (6-2; 1-1)
Class 2-1A:
District 1 – Both playoff spots have already been decided for District 1. Jefferson County North is the district champion, while Doniphan West will advance as the runner-up. Jefferson Co. North defeated Doniphan West 54-8 back in Week 7.
Troy (3-5; 1-2) at Horton (3-5; 1-2)
McLouth (0-8; 0-3) at Jefferson Co. North (8-0; 3-0)
Wabaunsee (1-7) at Doniphan West (5-3; 3-1) (ND)
District 2 – Jackson Heights will travel to Centralia with the District 2 championship on the line. The Cobras and Panthers have both already qualified for the 2-1A playoffs. The winner of this week’s game will advance as the district champion, while the loser advances as the runner-up. Valley Heights, which is 6-2 and spent most of the ranked in the 2-1A poll, will miss the playoffs in this competitive district.

District 3 – Olpe will travel to Lyndon to decide both playoffs spots in District 3. The winner of this week’s game will advance as the district champion, while the loser advances as the runner-up.

Chase County (1-7; 0-2) at Northern Heights (2-6; 0-2) at Emporia State
District 4 – St. Mary’s Colgan has clinched a playoff spot as the Panthers cannot finish below the top two teams in the District 4 standings. Yates Center can claim the second playoff spot with a win over Oswego and a Uniontown loss at Colgan. An Oswego win over Yates Center would qualify Uniontown in the second playoff spot.

District 5 – Sedgwick is the district champions as the Cardinals already hold a win over Medicine Lodge – the only team that could tie them in the standings. Medicine Lodge can grab the runner-up spot with a win over Remington this week. A Remington win would force a three-way tie between Medicine Lodge, Moundridge, and Remington to be decided by the district points margin.

Whitewater-Remington (1-7; 1-2) at Medicine Lodge (3-5; 2-1)
Prue (Okla.) (8-1) at Moundridge (2-6) (ND)
District 6 – Smith Center will travel to Ell-Saline to decide both playoff spots. The winner will advance as the champion, while the loser qualifies as the runner-up.

Sacred Heart (1-7; 0-2) at Republic County (0-8; 0-2)
District 7 – Plainville will host La Crosse in a game that will decide both playoff spots in District 7. The winner will advance as the champion, while the loser qualifies as the runner-up.

Ellis (2-6; 0-2) at Oakley (1-7; 0-2)
District 8 – Elkhart can clinch the District 8 championship with a win over Stanton County. A Stanton County victory coupled with a Meade loss to winless Sublette would give the Trojans the district title. Meade can reach the playoffs with a win over Sublette, while Stanton County needs to beat Elkhart by 12 or more points to ensure a postseason berth.
