Class 3A

District 1

  • Galena (5-2, 3-0) at Frontenac (5-2, 3-0) – This game will decide the District 1 title. The winner qualifies as the district champion, the loser as the runner-up.

  • Parsons (5-2, 1-2) at Columbus (2-5, 1-2) – The winner of this game gets the third seed out of District 1. The loser qualifies as the fourth seed and will travel to face the winner of this week’s Girard and Burlington game in first round of the playoffs.

  • Non-District: Baxter Springs (3-4) at Wichita Trinity (0-7) – Baxter Springs closes out the regular season with a trip to winless Wichita Trinity. Trinity will also miss out on the playoffs. The Knights finished 5th in District 6.

District 2

  • Burlington (5-2, 3-0) at Girard (7-0, 3-0) – This game will decide the District 2 title. The winner qualifies as the district champion, the loser as the runner-up.

  • Prairie View (3-4, 1-2) at Anderson County (2-5, 0-3) – A win by Prairie View makes the Buffaloes the No. 3 seed from this district and would qualify Iola as the fourth seed. Anderson County must beat Prairie View by at least 14 points to make the playoffs. If Anderson County wins, a three-way tie would be created between the Bulldogs, Prairie View, and Iola. The No. 3 seed would be decided by marginal points, with the No. 4 seed decided by the head-to-head outcome of the two remaining teams. If Anderson County beats Prairie View by 14 or more points, Iola would have the highest marginal point total and qualify as the No. 3 seed. Anderson County would then qualify as the No. 4 seed by virtue of the head-to-head win over Prairie View. Iola holds the head-to-head tie-breaker over Anderson County with a 28-14 win back in Week 4.

  • Non-District: Iola (2-5) at Santa Fe Trail (1-6) – These two Pioneer League rivals will play a non-district, league game in Week 8. Iola enters this contest having lost three straight games, while Santa Fe Trail has dropped two in a row.

District 3

  • Wellsville (7-0, 3-0) at Baldwin (3-4, 2-1) – Wellsville is the district champion with a win over Baldwin. A Wellsville win would also push Baldwin to the No. 3 seed out of the district given the Bulldogs’ 26-6 loss to Bishop Ward last week. Baldwin can claim the district title with a win over Wellsville coupled with a Bishop Ward loss to Osawatomie.

  • Osawatomie (0-7, 0-3) at Bishop Ward (5-2, 2-1) – Osawatomie has been eliminated from playoff consideration given their loss to Santa Fe Trail – the only team they can tie in the district standings. Bishop Ward is district runner-up with a win and a Wellsville win. The Cyclones can still claim the district title with a 21-point win over Osawatomie coupled with a Baldwin win by at least 15 points over Wellsville.

  • Non-District: Iola (2-5) at Santa Fe Trail (1-6) – These two Pioneer League rivals will play a non-district, league game in Week 8. Iola enters this contest having lost three straight games, while Santa Fe Trail has dropped two in a row.

District 4

  • Holton (6-1, 3-0) at Jefferson West (0-7, 0-3) – Holton has clinched the District 4 championship with last week’s win over Topeka Hayden. Jeff West has been eliminated by virtue of district losses to Royal Valley and Perry-Lecompton – the only two teams the Tigers could tie in the standings.
  • Royal Valley (2-5, 1-2) at Perry-Lecompton (2-5, 1-2) – The winner of this game is the No. 3 seed out of District 4, while the loser qualifies as the No. 4 seed and will travel to take on the District 3 champion in the first round of the playoffs.

  • Non-District: Topeka Hayden (6-1) at Hiawatha (2-5) – Hayden has completed district play and is the runner-up out of District 4. Hiawatha has been eliminated in District 5 having lost all four district games.

District 5

  • Rock Creek (6-1, 3-0) at Concordia (2-5, 1-2) – Rock Creek has already won the district championship having defeated both Marysville and Clay Center. Concordia has wrapped up the No. 4 seed and will travel to take on the winner of this week’s Wichita Collegiate and Hesston matchup in the first round of the playoffs next week.

  • Marysville (3-4, 2-1) at Clay Center (4-3, 2-1) – The winner of this one finishes as the district runner-up, while the loser finishes third.

  • Non-District: Topeka Hayden (6-1) at Hiawatha (2-5) – Hayden has completed district play and is the runner-up out of District 4. Hiawatha has been eliminated in District 5 having lost all four district games.

District 6

  • Wichita Collegiate (6-1, 3-0) at Hesston (5-2, 3-0) – This game will decide the District 6 title. The winner qualifies as the district champion, the loser as the runner-up.

  • Chapman (2-5, 1-2) at Clearwater (3-4, 1-2) – The winner of this game is the No. 3 seed out of District 6, while the loser qualifies as the No. 4 seed and will travel to take on Rock Creek in the first round of the playoffs.

  • Non-District: Baxter Springs (3-4) at Wichita Trinity (0-7) – Baxter Springs closes out the regular season with a trip to winless Wichita Trinity. Trinity will also miss out on the playoffs. The Knights finished 5th in District 6.   Trinity is still seeking the schools’ first playoff appearance after 15 seasons.

District 7

  • Andale (7-0, 3-0) at Pratt (6-1, 2-1) – Andale is the district champion regardless of this week’s outcome against Pratt. If Pratt is to pull off the upset, it would create a three-way tie atop the standings with Cheney all at 3-1 and the champion would be decided by marginal points. Even if Pratt beats Andale by 21 or more points, the Indians would finish with the highest marginal point total and thus are district champions. Since Cheney has completed district play, the Cardinals are the runner-up by virtue of their head-to-head win over Pratt, 43-21, back in Week 4.

  • Nickerson (1-6, 0-3) at Smoky Valley (3-4, 0-3) – The winner qualifies as the No. 4 seed out of District 7, while the loser is left out of the playoff bracket.

  • Non-District: Cheney (5-2) at Halstead (3-4) – Cheney has completed district play and is the runner-up by virtue of their head-to-head win over Pratt, 43-21, back in Week 4. Halstead is in Class 2A and finished as the No. 3 seed in District 5.

District 8

  • Scott City (6-1, 3-0) at Colby (2-5, 0-3) – Scott City has already clinched the District 8 title by virtue of its win over Holcomb – the only team that can mathematically tie the Beavers in the standings. Colby has been eliminated from the playoffs as the Eagles were defeated by Hugoton and Goodland.

  • Hugoton (5-2, 1-2) at Goodland (2-5, 1-2) – The winner of this game is the No. 3 seed out of District 4, while the loser qualifies as the No. 4 seed and will travel to take on the District 7 champion Andale in the first round of the playoffs.

  • Non-District: Holcomb (6-1) at Southwestern Heights (2-5) – Holcomb has completed district play and is the runner-up. Southwestern Heights is in Class 2A and finished as fifth in District 7 and will not qualify for the playoffs.

Class 2A

District 1

  • Caney Valley (5-2, 3-0) at Riverton (1-6, 1-2) – Caney Valley is the district champion by virtue of their 3-0 record including their Week 4 win over Cherryvale – the only team that could tie them in the standings. Riverton is guaranteed a playoff spot with a win or a Neodesha loss. A Riverton loss coupled with a Neodesha win over Cherryvale would land Fredonia the 4-seed and leave Riverton out.

  • Neodesha (2-5, 1-2) at Cherryvale (4-3, 2-1) – Neodesha qualifies for the playoffs with a win over Cherryvale or a Riverton win over Caney Valley. For the Blue Streaks to make the playoffs with a loss to Cherryvale, they must hope Riverton loses to Caney Valley by 13 points or less. Cherryvale has already clinched a playoff spot and will be the district runner-up with a win.

  • Non-District: Fredonia (3-4) at Eureka (3-4) – Non-district game between Tri-Valley League rivals.  Fredonia reaches the playoffs with a Neodesha win and a Riverton loss. The Yellow Jackets can also get in with a Neodesha loss and a Riverton loss by 9 or more points.

District 2

  • Council Grove (6-1, 3-0) at Osage City (6-1, 3-0) – These Flint Hills League rivals will decide the District 2 championship in this one. The winner qualifies as the district champion, the loser as the runner-up.

  • West Franklin (4-3, 0-3) at Humboldt (5-2, 1-2) – Humboldt has secured the No. 3 seed out of this district and West Franklin has been eliminated. Even if the Cubs lose to West Franklin by 21 points creating a three-way tie with Eureka, Humboldt would have the most marginal points between the three teams. The fourth seed would then go to Eureka who defeated West Franklin head-to-head 40-20 back in Week 6.

  • Non-District: Fredonia (3-4) at Eureka (3-4) – Non-district game between Tri-Valley League rivals. Eureka has qualified as the fourth seed from this district by virtue of their 40-20 win over West Franklin back in Week 6.

District 3

  • Rossville (3-4, 2-1) at Maur Hill-Mount Academy (2-5, 0-3) – Maur Hill has been eliminated from playoff contention with their 36-31 loss to Pleasant Ridge back in Week 4 – the only team the Ravens could tie in the standings. • Silver Lake (5-2, 3-0) at Atchison County (6-1, 2-1) – Both teams have already qualified for the playoffs. Silver Lake is the district champion with a win. • Haven (4-3, 1-2) at Chaparral (5-1, 2-1) – Both teams have qualified for the playoffs. Chaparral is the district runner-up with a win and a Kingman win over Garden Plain. The Roadrunners would also claim the No. 2 seed with a win and a Garden Plain win by less than 12 points by virtue of their head-to-head win over the Owls in district play. Haven gets the third seed with a win over Chaparral.

  • Non-District: Leon-Bluestem (0-7) at Douglass (2-5) – This is a non-district game between former Central Plains League rivals. Neither team will qualify for their respective playoff brackets.

District 7

  • Cimarron (2-5, 2-1) at Hoisington (5-2, 3-0) – Hoisington is the district champion with a win or a loss by less than 18 points. An 18-point Cimarron win over the Cardinals gives the Blue Jays the title and Hoisington the runner-up. A Cimarron loss coupled with a Lakin win over Larned would give Lakin the runner-up spot and push Cimarron to third.

  • Larned (3-4, 1-2) at Lakin (5-2, 2-1) – Both teams have qualified for the playoffs. A Lakin win coupled with a Cimarron loss would earn the Broncs a runner-up finish. Lakin can also finish as the runner-up with a win and a Cimarron win by less than 18 points over Hoisington. Larned gets the three seed with a win and a Cimarron win over Hoisington. Class 1A

District 1

  • Uniontown (1-6, 1-2) at St. Mary’s Colgan (6-1, 3-0) – This game will be played on Thursday night. Colgan has already clinched the District title. Uniontown has clinched a playoff spot regardless of Thursday’s outcome. The Eagles can finish no worse than -3 marginal points. A Southeast win over Northeast would result in a tie between those two and Uniontown in the standings, but neither the Lancers or Vikings can finish with a higher marginal point total than Uniontown.

  • Northeast-Arma (2-5, 1-2) at Southeast-Cherokee (0-7, 0-3) – Northeast finishes as the No. 3 seed from this district with a win, but they are left out of the playoffs with a loss. Southeast can grab the final playoff spot by beating Northeast.

District 2

  • Central Heights (3-4, 1-2) at Olpe (5-2, 3-0) – Olpe has already wrapped up the district title with last week’s win over Jayhawk-Linn. In the event that the two share the same record, Pleasanton holds the tie-breaker over Central Heights for the No. 3 seed by virtue of the Blujays 12-6 win over the Vikings in Week 7.

  • Northern Heights (0-7, 0-3) at Pleasanton (5-2, 1-2) – Northern Heights is ineligible for the playoffs given their Week 5 district forfeit to Olpe. District 5

  • Valley Heights (2-5, 1-2) at Smith Center (5-2, 2-1) – Smith Center captures the runner-up spot from this district with a win. Valley Heights can finish as the runner-up by beating Smith Center but also needs Republic County to beat Sacred Heart. A Smith Center loss coupled with a Sacred Heart win still allows the Redmen to qualify as the district runner-up based on the most marginal points.

  • Sacred Heart (3-4, 1-2) at Republic County (0-7, 0-3) – Sacred Heart qualifies for the playoffs with a win. Republic County can clinch the No. 3 seed by beating Sacred Heart by 11 or more points as long as Valley Heights loses to Smith Center. Even if Republic County beats Sacred Heart by 10 points or less, and Valley Heights loses to Smith Center, the Buffs still miss the playoffs.

District 7

  • Conway Springs (4-3, 4-0) at Hutchinson Trinity (6-1, 3-1) – Conway Springs can wrap up the District 7 championship with a win. Hutchinson Trinity is the district champion by beating Conway Springs by 20 or more points. Should the Celtics beat Conway and Inman lose to Medicine Lodge, Hutchinson Trinity would also be district champs.

  • Medicine Lodge (3-4, 2-2) at Inman (6-1, 3-1) – Inman can finish no higher than the runner-up spot in this district. The Teutons can claim the runner-up spot with a win and a Hutch Trinity loss to Conway Springs. An Inman victory coupled with a Hutch Trinity win over Conway Springs would create a three-way tie atop the standings with the champion to be decided by the most marginal points. In that scenario, Hutch Trinity would be the district champion by beating Conway Springs by 20 or more points, knocking Inman to the third seed and Medicine Lodge to No. 4. A Medicine Lodge victory over Inman coupled with a Hutch Trinity win would make the Indians the No. 3 seed. A Medicine Lodge win and a Hutch Trinity loss creates a three-way tie with Inman with the No. 2 seed being decided by the most marginal points and the No. 3 seed decided by the head-to-head winner of the two remaining teams.
