Class 8M-I

District 1

  • Sedan (4-0) at Marmaton Valley (2-2) – Sedan is one of four remaining unbeaten teams in 8M-I. The Blue Devils have already clinched the District 1 title with wins over West Elk and Yates Center. Marmaton Valley made headlines a couple of weeks ago with their record-setting 106-98 win over Oswego. That victory has helped the Wildcats secure a fourth-place finish in this district and a playoff berth after a years’ absence.
  • Yates Center (3-1) at West Elk (3-1) – The winner of this game finishes as the district runner-up, while the loser finishes third.
  • Oswego (0-4) at Cedar Vale-Dexter (0-4) – Both the Indians and the Spartans have been eliminated from playoff consideration.

District 2

  • Madison (4-0) at Central Burden (3-1) – Madison claims the district title with a victory. Central Burden can become district champion with a win and a Chase County loss to Oxford. A Central Burden loss likely drops the Raiders to third place in the district.
  • Oxford (1-3) at Chase County (3-1) – Chase County can clinch the runner-up spot with a victory and a Madison win over Central Burden. Chase County can still win the district with a victory by at least 21 points and a Madison loss by at least 12 points.  Oxford reaches the playoffs with a win and a Flinthills loss.
  • Udall (0-4) at Flinthills (1-3) – Flinthills qualifies for the playoffs as the fourth-place team out of this district with a win. The Mustangs hold the head-to-head tiebreaker over Oxford by virtue of a 70-68, three-overtime thriller back in Week 4. Udall can create a three-way tie by beating Flinthills and an Oxford loss to Chase County, but the Eagles cannot finish with higher marginal points average than Oxford in that scenario.

District 3

  • Maranatha Academy (1-3) at Clifton-Clyde (4-0) – Clifton-Clyde has already wrapped up the District 3 title by virtue of their head-to-head win over Burlingame.
  • Doniphan West (2-2) at Burlingame (3-1) – Burlingame has clinched a playoff spot and will be district runner-up with a win. A Doniphan West win makes the Mustangs the runner-up and pushes Burlingame to third place.
  • Washington County (1-3) at Valley Falls (1-3) – The winner of this game is likely in the playoffs unless Maranatha upsets Clifton-Clyde. Washington County can finish as high as third with a win and losses by Maranatha and Doniphan West.

District 4

  • Solomon (2-2) at Little River (4-0) – Little River has clinched the District 4 championship with their win over Canton-Galva. Solomon has clinched a playoff spot. Even if the Gorillas lose and fall into a three-way tie with Bennington and Lincoln, Solomon cannot finish with the lowest marginal points of the three.
  • Lincoln (1-3) at Canton-Galva (2-1) – Canton-Galva has cliched a playoff spot and will be the runner-up with a win over Lincoln.  Lincoln has been eliminated. Even if the Leopards win and create a three-way tie with Bennington and Solomon, Lincoln cannot finish above either of the other two in marginal points and has lost to both teams.
  • Herington (0-3) at Bennington (2-2) – Bennington is in the playoffs and can finish as district runner-up with a win and a Canton-Galva loss. Herington has been eliminated from playoff consideration.

District 5

  • Medicine Lodge (3-1) at Goessel (4-0) – Goessel clinches the district title with a win. A Medicine Lodge win coupled with an unlikely Argonia-Attica loss would make the Indians district champs. If Medicine Lodge and A&A win, the three-way tie would come down to the highest average marginal points between the three to determine the champion – which would be A&A. Bottom line, both teams are playoff bound.
  • Fairfield (0-4) at Argonia-Attica (3-1) – Argonia-Attica is playoff bound, while Fairfield has been eliminated. A&A will be the district champion with a win and a Medicine Lodge victory over Goessel.
  • Pretty Prairie (1-3) at Moundridge (1-3) – This is essentially a playoff game with the winner qualifying for the playoffs as the fourth-place team out of this district while the loser does not.

District 6

  • La Crosse (4-0) at Kiowa County (1-3) – La Crosse has clinched the District 6 title by virtue of their wins over both Macksville and Kinsley. Kiowa County reaches the playoffs with a win and a Skyline loss.
  • Macksville (3-1) at Kinsley (3-1) – Both teams have already qualified for the playoffs. The winner of this game will be the district runner-up, while the loser qualifies as the third-place finisher.
  • St. John (0-4) at Pratt-Skyline (1-3) – Skyline is in the playoffs with a win. St. John has been eliminated. The Tigers can potentially force a three-way tie for fourth with a win and a Kiowa County loss, but St. John cannot finish ahead of the other two in average marginal points.

District 7

  • Meade (4-0) at Hodgeman County (1-3) – Meade is the District 7 champion. The Buffaloes have a win over Wichita County – the only team that could possibly tie them in the standings. Hodgeman County can tie South Gray and Spearville in the standings if they both lose, but the Longhorns lost to both teams and therefore cannot qualify for the playoffs.
  • South Gray (2-2) at Leoti-Wichita County (3-1) – A Wichita County win gives the Indians the district runner-up spot. South Gray is the runner up with a win by at least 19 points or a win by any amount coupled with a Spearville loss. The Rebels have clinched a playoff spot since they hold the head-to-head tiebreaker over Hodgeman County.
  • Spearville (2-2) at Ness City (0-4) – Spearville is in the playoffs by virtue of wins over South Gray and Hodgeman County. A Lancer win gives them third place. A Lancer loss coupled with a South Gray loss and a Hodgeman County win would create a three-way tie at 2-3, but Spearville has beaten both the Rebels and Longhorns head to head and would be the third seed. Spearville finishes fourth with a loss and a South Gray win. Ness City has been eliminated.

District 8

  • Oberlin-Decatur Co. (1-3) at Hill City (4-0) – Hill City has already clinched the District 8 title with last week’s win over WaKeeney-Trego. Oberlin has been eliminated as the Red Devils were defeated by both Hoxie and Rawlins County.
  • WaKeeney-Trego (3-1) at Stockton (0-4) – WaKeeney-Trego has already clinched the district runner-up spot by virtue of wins over both Hoxie and Atwood-Rawlins County. Stockton has been eliminated.
  • Hoxie (2-2) at Atwood-Rawlins Co. (2-2) – Both teams have qualified for the playoffs. The winner of this game qualifies as the third-place team, while the loser finishes fourth.

Class 8M-II

District 1

  • Waverly (2-0) at Chetopa (1-3) – Waverly is the district champion with a victory. If the Bulldogs lose to Chetopa, several scenarios still remain as only three of the six teams in this district have played all of their district games due to COVID cancellations.
  • St. Paul (3-1) at Southern Coffey County (1-1) – St. Paul has clinched at least a playoff spot and would be district champions with a win and a Waverly loss due to a better win percentage (Waverly has not played all district games). SCC reaches the playoffs with a win as well.
  • Colony-Crest (2-2) at Altoona-Midway (0-2) – Altoona-Midway has had to cancel its last two games given COVID protocol. Crest will qualify with a victory and likely still would qualify with a loss. Altoona must win and hope for losses by Chetopa and Southern Coffey County for the Jets to have a chance at the playoffs.

District 2

  • Marais des Cygnes Valley (3-0) at Lebo (3-0) – Both teams have already qualified for the playoffs. The winner of this game will be the district champion, while the loser qualifies as the runner-up.
  • Centre-Lost Springs (0-0) at Hartford (2-2) – This game has been cancelled as Centre is only playing 6-Man games this fall. Hartford has finished third in District 2.
  • Rural Vista (0-3) at Wakefield (0-3) – This is essentially a playoff game with the winner qualifying for the 8M-II bracket while the loser does not.

District 3

  • Axtell (4-0) at Onaga (3-2) – Axtell has already won the District 3 title as the Eagles have a win over Frankfort, the only team that could tie them in the standings. Meanwhile, Onaga has already secured a playoff spot and will either finish third or fourth depending on the outcome of this game and the Hanover game.
  • Hanover (3-2) at Wetmore (0-5) – Hanover has already qualified for the playoffs. A win over Wetmore will give the Wildcats a third-place finish in this district. Wetmore has been eliminated.
  • Linn (1-4) at Frankfort (4-1) – Frankfort has already clinched the district runner-up spot as the Wildcats have wins over both Onaga and Hanover. Linn has been eliminated.
  • Lakeside-Downs (5-2) at Blue Valley Randolph (2-5) – This is a non-district game.

District 4

  • Thunder Ridge 1, Southern Cloud 0 – Southern Cloud will forfeit for a second-consecutive week due to a lack of healthy players. Thunder Ridge had already sewn up the District 4 championship.
  • Osborne (4-1) at Pike Valley (2-3) – Osborne has already clinched the district runner-up spot having beaten Lakeside-Downs. Pike Valley needs to win and hope for a St. John’s-Tipton loss to qualify for the playoffs. The Panthers could also get in with a close loss and a significant St. John’s-Tipton loss to Rock Hills.
  • Mankato-Rock Hills (1-4) at Beloit St. John’s-Tipton (2-3) – St. John’s-Tipton can end the potential drama with this district and claim the last playoff spot by simply beating Rock Hills. If the Blujays lose, they could find themselves out of the bracket if Pike Valley upsets Osborne.
  • Lakeside-Downs (5-2) at Blue Valley Randolph (2-5) – This is a non-district game.

District 5

  • Victoria (5-0) at Otis-Bison (3-2) – Victoria has already claimed the District 5 championship. Otis-Bison has clinched either the third or fourth playoff spot. If Central Plains and Otis-Bison both win, Central Plains will finish third by virtue of their head-to-head win over the Cougars. If both lose and Tescott wins, a three-way tie at 3-3 would result and be determined by average margined points. Tescott cannot surpass either of the other two and has been eliminated.
  • Sylvan-Lucas Unified (4-1) at Tescott (2-3) – Sylvan-Lucas has clinched the runner-up spot having beaten both Otis-Bison and Central Plains. Tescott has been eliminated but can still have an impact on this district as described in the Victoria/Otis-Bison brief above.
  • Central Plains (3-2) at Wilson (1-4) – Central Plains is in the playoffs and will finish third in the event of a tie with Otis-Bison by virtue of the Oilers’ 26-12 win over the Cougars back in Week 3.
  • Caldwell (6-1) at Chase (0-7) – This is a non-district game.

District 6

  • South Haven (0-5) at South Barber (4-1) – South Barber is the District 6 Champion with a win. The Chieftains hold the head-to-head against Caldwell having topped the Blue Jays 46-34 last week. If South Barber loses, they will drop to third place in the district. South Haven has been eliminated.
  • Norwich (3-1) at Peabody-Burns (3-2) – This game has been cancelled given Norwich remains in COVID protocol. Both teams have qualified for the playoffs, but with multiple teams having not played all district games, win percentage will help determine the seeds. If South Barber beats South Haven, the district will finish 1. South Barber, 2. Caldwell, 3. Norwich, 4. Peabody-Burns.
  • Hutchinson Central Christian (1-4) at Stafford (1-3) – Both the Cougars and the Trojans have been eliminated.
  • Caldwell (6-1) at Chase (0-7) – This is a non-district game.

District 7

  • Dighton (4-0) at Bucklin (4-0) – The winner is the District 7 champion, the loser is the runner-up.
  • Satanta (1-2) at Minneola (2-2) – Minneola has clinched a playoff spot and will finish third with a win. Satanta can also finish third with a win over Minneola. A Satanta loss coupled with a South Central win over Ingalls could result in Satanta being left out of the playoffs.
  • Ingalls (0-4) at South Central (0-3) – Ingalls has been eliminated. South Central can reach the playoffs with a win and a Satanta loss to Minneola. South Central and Satanta’s head-to-head game was cancelled last week due to the Timberwolves being in COVID protocol.

District 8

  • Wheatland-Grinnell (4-0) at Triplains-Brewster (2-2) – Wheatland-Grinnell is the District 8 champion with a win over second-place Quinter. Triplains-Brewster qualifies for the playoffs with a win or a St. Francis loss.
  • Logan-Palco (1-5) at Quinter (3-1) – Quinter has clinched the runner-up finish in the district having beaten both Triplains-Brewster and Sharon Springs-Wallace County. Logan-Palco has been eliminated.
  • Sharon Springs-Wallace Co. (2-2) at St. Francis (1-3) – Sharon Springs-Wallace County reaches the playoffs with a victory. St. Francis can get win with a win over Wallace County and a Triplains-Brewster victory over Wheatland-Grinnell.
