Another great week of Kansas high school football is complete as we near closer and closer to knowing the playoff qualifiers and pairings.  Visit our Rankings page and find out how the results from Week 6 impacted our statewide rankings!

Class 6A

There is more movement towards the bottom of the Class 6A poll this week. Olathe North returns to the top five at No. 4 this week. The Eagles improved to 5-1 with a 56-14 win over Shawnee Mission East. Also entering the poll is Lawrence Free State at No. 5. The Firebirds defeated Olathe South last week to move to 5-1 on the season – quite a turnaround after an 0-6 season in 2020.

Class 4A

We have plenty of shake up in this week’s Class 4A poll as a result of last week’s ranked showdown between Buhler and McPherson. Buhler topped McPherson, 42-30, and as a result the Crusaders move up a spot to No. 4 this week – one spot ahead of the Bullpups. Andover Central also falls a spot to No. 3 this week after the Jaguars suffered their first loss of the season at Salina Central. See the remainder of the poll and the new No. 2 team at the link below.

Class 3A

Another week passes with no change in the Class 3A poll. Top-ranked Andale put up 96 points in a win over Wichita Trinity and moved closer to the Week 8 district showdown with No. 2 Wichita Collegiate. Third-ranked Cheney passed another big test with a win over Holcomb and Holton and Frontenac each rolled to big victories. Class 3A has several impressive teams, especially Southeast of Saline (6-0) which continues to dominate its schedule by outscoring its opponents by a combined 327-12. Concordia and Riley County, both 6-0, will play each other this week, and Girard is 6-0 for the first time since 1999.

There is movement in this week’s Class 2A poll towards the bottom three spots. The big game last week in Class 2A featured Wellsville and Osage City.
