Name:  Jake Hoskins

High School: Shawnee Mission Northwest

Position in high school: Strong Safety/Free Safety

Height: 5’10”

Weight: 195lbs

College you plan to attend: Hutchinson Community College

Scholarship / Walk-on: Scholarship

Planned position in college: Safety

Other colleges recruited you or showed interest: Central Arkansas, William Jewell

Why you chose the college you plan to attend: To continue to pursue my goal of playing D1 Football & win a championship with Hutch along the way.

Were you recruited to play other sports at the collegiate level: No

Notes / stats from high school career:
Senior season: 93 tackles, 5 forced fumbles, 1TD, 1 sack, 1 fumble recovery.
Junior season:  72 tackles, 3 interceptions, 1 sack, 1 fumble recovery.
2-time Sunflower League Honorable Mention DB

Favorite high school football memory:  I had the game ending pass break-up in the final game of district play on the last drive of the game, which knocked out the defending state champs and put my team in the playoffs!

Kpreps comment: Hoskins is a promising safety prospect at the next level with the ability to get to the ball and deliver a hit. He helped the Cougars reach the 6A playoffs last fall despite a 3-6 record that included four losses by less than 10 points.  Jake recorded more than 160 tackles in the past two seasons earning Honorable Mention All-Sunflower League each season.

Editor's Note: It is important to remember that all college commitments are verbal and not truly finalized until the student-athletes sign National Letters of Intent on February 5th.
