Let’s take a look at the Week 8 Kpreps.com rankings powered by Pinamonti Physical Therapy. First, we've put together our first ever rankings release video - check it out! Then, keep reading below.

There are now no more unbeaten teams in Class 6A as Manhattan knocked off Topeka High 22-7 on Friday.  With the loss, the Trojans fall out of the 6A poll replaced by No. 5 Olathe North.  The Eagles beat Olathe Northwest 33-7 and have a showdown at No. 4 Gardner-Edgerton this week.  Derby remains on top in 6A after scoring 76 points in the first three quarters of their win over Wichita SoutheastLawrence Free State is ranked second, while Shawnee Mission East checks in at No. 3.

The Class 5A top five remains unchanged this week as all five teams rolled to impressive wins.  Salina South remains ranked No.4 after beating crosstown-rival Salina Central 55-27 behind a 290-yard, five-touchdown performance from Mike Jones. 

Andale remains at No. 2 this week after a 28-21 win over No. 4 Buhler. The Indians scored two fourth-quarter touchdowns to overtake the Crusaders. Buhler stays at No. 4 despite the loss after battling Andale without star running back Riley Allen.  Top-ranked Holton blasted previously unbeaten Wamego 56-6 behind four first-half touchdowns from senior Drake Ewing.  The two ranked Frontier League teams, No. 3 Baldwin and No. 5 Paola, each posted blowout wins.

The only change in Class 3A occurred at the bottom as last week’s No. 5 Phillipsburg fell out of the poll after a 48-27 loss to No. 1 Beloit.  Replacing the Panthers is Caney Valley. The Bullpups shutout Cherryvale 28-0 and have only a 21-6 loss at No. 2 Conway Springs blemishing their record.  Rossville followed up their big win over Silver Lake with a 35-0 shutout of Mission Valley, while the Eagles got back on the winning track by hammering Pleasant Ridge.

La Crosse got a bit of a scare from Sterling in Class 2-1A district play.  The second-ranked Leopards trailed the Black Bears 14-0 after one quarter before scoring the game’s final 30 points.  Oakley remains at No. 4 this week after recovering a fumble in the end zone to survive Oberlin-Decatur County 12-6. Centralia remains at No. 1, Meade at No. 3, and Lyndon at No. 5 this week. Meade will travel to unbeaten Elkhart on Friday night.

The top five teams in both eight man divisions remain unchanged this week.  In Division I, Kiowa County shutout Fairfield 50-0 behind a huge night from Trever Powell.  The Falcons entered the game 5-1, but Powell rushed for nearly 340 yards and scored six touchdowns. Third-ranked Osborne led Clifton-Clyde 50-32 at halftime, but outscored the Eagles 30-0 in the second half to win 80-32. Atwood-Rawlins County beat Quinter for the second time this season as the Buffaloes remain at No. 5.

Baileyville B&B and Hanover each posted blowout wins last week as the Falcons and Wildcats prepare for the final scheduled showdown in their historic rivalry. The Falcons will travel to No. 3 Hanover this week.  Elsewhere, No. 2 Sharon Springs-Wallace County will travel to unbeaten Weskan this week.
