6A – EAST
8-Blue Valley West 28, 1-Olathe North 14 – Zach Darche passed for 191 yards and three touchdowns as Blue Valley West upset 1-seed Olathe North, 28-14. Darche tossed a pair of touchdown passes to Jack Schneider in the third quarter to allow the Jaguars to build a 21-6 lead. Sage Huffman rushed for 85 yards and a score and added a 45-yard touchdown reception from Darche. Olathe North rushed for 281 yards in the loss, led by T.J. Porter’s 208 yards and a touchdown.
4-Gardner-Edgerton 28, 5-Blue Valley Northwest 19 – There will be a new champion in Class 6A as Gardner-Edgerton eliminated Blue Valley Northwest, 28-19. The Trailblazers led 15-7 at halftime before a Grant Stubblefield touchdown in the third quarter to pull Northwest within 15-13. Gardner-Edgerton’s Zaine Mayfield returned the ensuing kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown and a 22-13 lead. Dawson Kindler added his third scoring run of the night later in the quarter to put the Blazers up 28-13. Kindler rushed for 148 yards on 31 attempts. Stubblefield finished with 179 yards and three scores in his final game.
2-Olathe West 42, 7-Blue Valley 20 – Olathe West produced 500 yards of total offense in a 42-20 win over Blue Valley on Thursday night. Quarterback Mason McGavran rushed for 245 yards and three touchdowns and passed for 108 more yards and a score. Vincent Gatschet added 111 yards and two scores on the ground for the Owls. Blue Valley quarterback Trevor Brush passed for 242 yards and three scores – two of which went to Sam Gatlin.
6-Olathe Northwest 35, 3-Olathe South 21 – Olathe Northwest scored a pair of touchdowns in each of the first two quarters and added a second-half touchdown to hold off Olathe South, 35-21. The Ravens forced three Falcon turnovers in the game. Eric Butler rushed for a pair of touchdowns for the Ravens, while Max Keller rushed for a score and threw a touchdown pass to Hayden Risley. Merak Greinert also tossed a touchdown pass to Micah Geary. Northwest (7-3) set a single season record for wins and went to the quarterfinals for the first time. The Ravens had lost to South 35-7 in the regular season.
6A – WEST
1-Manhattan 48, 8-Wichita East 20 – Top-ranked Manhattan scored in each quarter in cruising to a 48-20 home win over Wichita East. The Indians scored 21 points in the fourth quarter to widen the margin. Jason Sanchez scored a pair of early rushing scores to take a 14-0 lead and Keenan Schartz added three scores for the Indians. Schartz rushed for 208 yards as the Indians racked up more than 430 yards on the ground.
4-Wichita Northwest 50, 5-Junction City 27 – Wichita Northwest outscored Junction City 20-7 in the second half en route to a 50-27 win. Both teams ran the ball effectively in the first half as Northwest led 30-20. Junction City played without quarterback Xavion Felton as Michael Boganoswki played quarterback for the Blue Jays.
2-Derby 76, 7-Lawrence 28 – Derby rolled to a 76-28 win over Lawrence to advance to the 6A quarterfinals. Dylan Edwards rushed for more than 200 yards and five touchdowns and caught a touchdown pass from Brock Zerger. Zerger and Derek Hubbard each rushed for two scores for the Panthers. Tyrell Reed led Lawrence with 165 yards and two touchdowns.
6-Washburn Rural 34, 3-Garden City 7 – Washburn Rural scored in each quarter in getting a 34-7 road win at Garden City. JC Heim recovered a Garden City fumble in the end zone for an early lead for the Junior Blues. Ma’Kenttis Adams added a short scoring run and Branton DeWeese threw a pair of touchdown passes as Rural pulled away. DeWeese threw touchdown passes to Dayten Smoot and Ty Weber in the game.
Class 5A

5A – East
1-Mill Valley 24, 8-Shawnee Heights 0 – Mill Valley cruised to a 24-0 victory over Shawnee Heights in the rain on Friday night. The Jaguars kept the ball on the ground rushing for 343 yards. Amarian Graves led the Mill Valley ground game with 168 yards and a score, while Tristan Baker added 140 yards and a touchdown. The Mill Valley defense held Shawnee Heights to 60 yards of total offense.
5-Pittsburg 28, 4-KC Sumner Academy 0 – Pittsburg went on the road and shut out Sumner Academy, 28-0, in the rain on Friday night. The Purple Dragons have now won seven of their last eight games with their only lose during that span coming to a 10-win Smithville (Mo.) team. Pittsburg will travel to three-time defending 5A champion Mill Valley in next week’s quarterfinals. This will be the Purple Dragon’s first trip to the quarterfinals since 2017.
2-De Soto 56, 7-Spring Hill 0 – De Soto rolled to a 56-0 win over Spring Hill on Thursday night. Wildcat quarterback Carson Miller rushed for four touchdowns including scoring runs of 78 and 54 yards. Jayden Lang also added a pair of touchdowns on the ground. The Wildcat defense capped the scoring as Charlie Tadlock retuned an interception for a score.
11-Blue Valley Southwest 56, 14-Emporia 20 – Blue Valley Southwest scored in each quarter in rolling past Emporia, 56-20. Quarterback Dylan Dunn passed for 396 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Timberwolves. Dunn connected with Emmitt Peters five times for 154 yards and two touchdowns. Sam Swickard also caught a touchdown pass. Parker Smith led Southwest on the ground with 115 yards and two scores, while Dunn and Connor Falkner also added rushing touchdowns.
5A – West
1-Maize 43, 9-Kapaun Mt. Carmel 14 – Last season, Maize required a last-second touchdown and two-point conversion to defeat Kapaun Mt. Carmel in the state semifinals. On Friday, the Eagles steadily pulled away with a 13-7 advantage after the first quarter and 27-14 at halftime. Avery Johnson completed 7 of 8 for 74 yards. Daeshaun Carter delivered 19 carries for 175 yards and two scores. Maize outgained Kapaun, 428-273. Kapaun’s Omari Elias had 33 carries for 181 yards and two scores.
4-Hutchinson 14, 5-Bishop Carroll 7 – Defensive linemen Mason Jones picked up a Carroll fumble and returned it for a touchdown to help Hutchinson move past the Golden Eagles, 14-7. Nic Lange scored the other Salthawk touchdown from a yard out. Hutch and Carroll were basically even in total yardage with the Salthawks gaining 214 yards to Carroll’s 213 yards. Carroll had four turnovers on the night.
2-Hays 28, 7-Valley Center 6 – Hays High was down its top-two running backs because of injury. Senior Bryce Salmans, known more as a blocking tight end and defensive end, switched to running back. Salmans and Hays senior quarterback Kyreese Groen both cleared 100 rushing yards. Salmans rushed for two touchdowns. Hays High led 6-0 after a first quarter that yielded zero passing attempts from either team. On the first play of the second quarter, Groen hit senior Keamonie Archie on a 43-yard TD pass. HHS had a huge defensive effort and moved to 9-1, which tied a school record for single season victories. Salmans was involved on three tackles for loss and a pair of quarterback hurries. Senior Deondre Broom forced a fumble, recovered a fumble and a tackle for loss.
3-Salina Central 40, 6-Great Bend 35 – Salina Central got a huge night from Kenyon McMillian in holding off Great Bend, 40-35. The Mustangs broke open a 14-14 tie at halftime by scoring three touchdowns in the third quarter to lead 33-14. Great Bend battled back with a Cody Miller touchdown run to pull within 33-22, then a Cayden Scheuerman score pulled the Panthers to within 33-28 in the fourth quarter. Central responded as McMillian broke scored his fourth touchdown of the night – this one from 30-yards out to put the Mustangs up 40-28. Scheuerman added a late pull Great Bend within 40-35, but Central then ran out the clock. Miller rushed for 165 and three touchdowns for the Panthers, while Scheuerman added 115 yards and two scores.

4A East
8-KC Piper 48, 1-Chanute 47 (2OT) – Piper scored two touchdowns in the fourth quarter to force overtime, then outlasted Chanute, 48-47, in double overtime. The Pirates and Blue Comets went into overtime tied at 35. Piper got the ball first and scored on a Logan Ladish touchdown pass to Colin Vigil. The Pirates went to for the two-point conversion, but Ladish’s pass fell incomplete. Chanute scored in one play as Eric Erbe hit Kaiden Seamster on a 10-yard score, but the PAT was missed sending the game into a second overtime tied at 41. Chanute got the ball first and Erbe hit Dagen Dean on a diving catch that was ruled a touchdown after the refs talked about it. Chanute went for two but was tackled short of the end zone. Piper then scored on a Terrel Anderson 3-yard run. Zane Busick added the PAT to lift the Pirates to a 48-47 win.
5-Bishop Miege 33, 4-Eudora 26 – Bishop Miege held off Eudora 33-26 to advance to the state quarterfinals. David Garcia rushed for 176 yards with a touchdown and DeAndre Beasley added 121 yards and two scores as the Stags grinded out 285 yards on the ground. Mac Armstrong completed only six passes for 99 yards but two went for touchdowns to Isaiah Coppage. Octavius Lyles rushed for 236 yards and two scores for Eudora. Kole Manley completed both of his passes for touchdowns to Adrion Seals.
10-St. James Academy 42, 2-Atchison 17 – Two-time defending champions St.. James Academy outscored Atchison 21-0 in the second half to pull away for a 42-17 win on Thursday night. Blake Boydston passed for 232 yards and four touchdowns for the Thunder. Callahan Huston led the Thunder with 163 receiving yards and three scores, while John Niesen had 74 yards and a touchdown catch. Boydston also added 110 yards rushing and a score. Ben Wheeler also threw for 94 yards and a touchdown for St. James. Atchison was led by Trey Carter who passed for 248 yards and two scores.
6-St. Thomas Aquinas 40, 3-Louisburg 0 – Gianni Rizzi took an early option pitch 37 yards for a touchdown and Aquinas rolled to a 40-0 win at Louisburg. Sean Carroll led the Saints with 94 yards rushing and three rushing scores. Rizzi added 83 yards on the ground and Brogan Jaworski added a touchdown score. Louisburg’s Riley Van Eaton rushed for 97 yards and had 49 yards receiving.
4A West
1-Wamego 35, 9-Rose Hill 8 – Rose Hill got on the board early as an errant Wamego snap went through tend zone for a safety. After that, the Red Raiders rolled to a 35-8 victory. Hayden Oviatt broke a 99-yard touchdown run to give the Red Raiders the lead for good. Oviatt added two more rushing touchdowns on the night and 276 yards on the ground. Thomas McIntyre rushed for 110 yards and a pair of scores.
5-Andover Central 45, 13-Winfield 6 – Andover Central cruised to a win against Winfield, which had pulled a Week 9 upset against higher-seeded Wellington. The Jaguars led 6-0 after the first quarter on a Braden Barscewski touchdown run. Winfield tied the score with four minutes left in the first half. Cooper Tabor took the reverse 39 yards for a score and a 12-6 lead. Then, Tabor caught a nine-yard TD pass from Barscewski for a 19-6 lead with 1:16 left in the first half. Andover Central opened the second half with a pick-six from Drew Veatch for a 25-6 advantage. Later, Veatch picked off another pass to set up a short field. Barscewski rushed for two scores in the game.
2-McPherson 35, 10-Arkansas City 0 – McPherson rolled to the quarterfinal round with a 35-0 win over Ark City. Dawson Gottwald rushed for 116 yards and three touchdowns for the Bullpups, while Hunter Alvord added 102 yards on the ground. Ark City, playing without quarterback Gabe Welch, managed 142 yards of total offense. This marked the fifth consecutive season that the Bullpups and Bulldogs have matched up in the playoffs. McPherson has won four of those meetings, including a forfeit victory last season.
3-Towanda-Circle 34, 6-Coffeyville 6 – Towanda-Circle advanced to the quarterfinals with a 34-6 win over Coffeyville. Cooper Chadwell threw two touchdown passes and added a rushing score for the Thunderbirds. Westin Rose rushed for two touchdowns in the win. Circle captured the second Regional championship in school history and the first since 1980.
Class 3A

3A EAST
Columbus 21, Galena 14 – Quarterback Brett Hamilton rushed for a short touchdown run with 1:12 remaining to propel Columbus to a 21-14 win at Galena. The Titans have now won four straight games since a 1-5 start. Hamilton rushed for 125 yards and two scores on the night and threw a touchdown pass. Cole Minor caught three passes for 133 yards and a score. Galena had defeated Columbus 36-22 during the regular season.
Topeka Hayden 22, Wellsville 19 – J.C. Cummings scored on an 11-yard touchdown run with 2:32 remaining to left Hayden to a 22-19 win at Wellsville. The Eagles, which entered the night undefeated, opened a 13-0 lead on a pair of scoring runs by Nash Money. Hayden pulled to within 13-6 as Finn Dunshee returned a Wellsville kickoff for a touchdown. The Wildcats took a 14-13 lead as Dunshee rushed for a score. Wellsville led 19-14 at halftime as William Dorsey threw a touchdown pass to Dezmond Winton.
Girard 36, Frontenac 0 – Girard led 7-0 at halftime then scored two touchdowns in each of the third and fourth quarters to pull away for a 36-0 shut out of Frontenac. Alex Coester opened the scoring for the Trojans with a short scoring run and added a second rushing score after halftime. Adam Shireman added two touchdowns and Ethan Davidson also rushed for a score. Girard defeated Frontenac 35-0 during the regular season.
Holton 56, Bishop Ward 0 – Garyson Booth’s early touchdown was all Holton would need in a 56-0 shut out of Bishop Ward. The Wildcats scored three touchdowns in each of the first two quarters to take control 42-0 by halftime. Holton, with its talented backfield, will travel to unbeaten Girard next week. The Wildcats defeated Girard 36-0 in the state quarterfinals last season.
3A WEST
Rock Creek 21, Hesston 11 – Last week, Rock Creek scored 78 points and put up more than 550 passing yards. This week, RC trailed 11-0 in the second quarter before it scored 21 straight. Rock Creek received 250 rushing yards from Jaydon Winans. Dalton Whitworth, the state’s passing leader the last two years, had 95 passing yards. Hesston standout quarterback Hudson Ferralez had 197 passing yards. In the second quarter, Whitworth threw a 27-yard pass to Brandon Krainbill. In the third quarter, Winans had TD runs of 99 and 51 yards. Rock Creek picked off Ferralez twice. RC has won nine in a row after a season-opening loss to 2A No. 1 Southeast of Saline.
Andale 45, Pratt 6 – Andale defeated Pratt for the second time in three weeks and won contest No. 48 in a row. Andale chewed up nearly half the first quarter clock on the opening drive and delivered a touchdown. The Indians pulled away with 29 points in the second quarter. Andale quarterback Wyatt Spexarth finished seven of seven passing for 218 yards and three scores. Spexarth also added a touchdown run.
Clay Center 35, Wichita Collegiate 0 – Clay Center controlled the clock and used a consistent ground game as part of a 35-0 win at Wichita Collegiate. Juniors Carter Long and Brody Hayes each topped the 100-yard mark for the Tigers. Lang rushed for 110 yards with a touchdown and Hayes added 109 yards and three scores. Quarterback Mark Hoffman also added a touchdown run for Clay Center.
Cheney 28, Scott City 27 – Cheney went on the road and pulled out a 28-27 win over Scott City. The Cardinals and Beavers combined to score three touchdowns in the final :47 seconds of the first half. After a blocked punt, Cheney took a 14-7 lead as Josh Burdick scored on a 1-yard run. Scott City scored :17 seconds later as Dylan Metzger hit Jace Thomas on a 47-yard touchdown pass. Cheney scored again ten second later as Burdick hit Jackson Voth on a 26-yard score. Scott City tied the game in the third quarter on a Metzger to Jackson Rumford touchdown pass. Hudson Ditgen gave Cheney a 28-21 lead with a three-yard run with 2:33 remaining. Scott City responded with another touchdown pass from Metzger to Rumford, but the PAT was missed and Cheney held on for the 28-27 win. Burdick passed for 243 yards and two touchdowns and the rushing score for the Cardinals.

2A EAST
Caney Valley 16, Council Grove 3 – Caney Valley used a strong defensive effort to shut down Council Grove and advance to the quarterfinals with a 16-3 victory. Jackson Griffin rushed for both touchdowns for the Bullpups. The Caney Valley defense held Council Grove to 80 yards of total offense including 28 rush yards on 18 attempts.
Sabetha 48, Riley County 13 – Sabetha defeated Riley County for a second time this season. The Bluejays built a 27-6 halftime lead and rolled to a 48-13 win over the Falcons. Colin Menold rushed for nearly 250 yards and four touchdowns in filling in for standout back Josh Herrmann. Jonathan Reyner added 113 yards and a score on the ground for Sabetha. The Bluejay defense held Riley County to less than 100 yards of total offense.
Humboldt 26, Osage City 21 – Trey Sommer rushed for two touchdowns and tossed a touchdown pass as Humboldt built a 20-0 lead and held on for a 26-21 victory at Osage City. Cole Mathes added a touchdown run to put Humboldt up 26-7 at halftime. Landon Boss led Osage City back with a touchdown pass to Weston Dunbar and a rushing score of his own to close within 26-21. Kyler Isbell picked off Boss inside the 25-yard line late in the fourth quarter to secure the Cub victory. Osage City defeated Humboldt, 42-34, during the regular season.
Nemaha Central 36, Rossville 13 – In a battle of two schools that have combined to win the last three 2A state titles, Nemaha Central knocked out two-time defending champion Rossville, 36-13. Cooper Hajek rushed for 115 yards and three touchdowns, while his brother Carter, a freshman, added 142 yards and a score. Rossville had defeated the Thunder in the playoffs in each of the past two seasons on their way to winning state titles in each season. Nemaha Central beat Rossville in overtime in 2019 as the Thunder captured the state title that season.
2A WEST
Southeast of Saline 50, Chaparral 14 – Top-ranked Southeast of Saline limited Chaparral’s explosive offense to one touchdown. Nathan Friesen cleared 100 rushing yards for the Trojans. Per the Salina Post, SE Saline ran 45 plays in the second half, Chaparral ran just 10. The Trojans led 14-0 after the first quarter and 28-6 at halftime.
Hoisington 28, Russell 22 – Hoisington and Russell, in neighboring counties and separated by just 30 miles, had not played since 2013. Russell has enjoyed its huge turnaround with its first winning season since 2003 and first playoff game since ’79. Russell led 9-7 after the first quarter, 22-13 at halftime, and 22-20 entering the fourth quarter. Hoisington tallied the game-winning touchdown in the fourth. The Cardinals have five quarterfinal showings since 2015.
Kingman 33, Ellsworth 6 – Nolan Freund rushed for a score and threw touchdown passes to Carter Helm and Tristen Davidson as Kingman built a 21-0 halftime lead. Ellsworth pulled to within 21-6 in the third quarter before Freund rushed for a short touchdown run. Freund then hit Avrey Albright on a touchdown pass for a 33-6 lead. Kingman advances to the quarterfinals where they will travel to Beloit. Kingman lost at Beloit, 22-19, in the state semifinals last fall.
Beloit 50, Norton 14 – Beloit scored on the first play of the game and then rolled to a 50-14 win over Norton. Logan Arasmith broke a 67-yard run on the game’s first play as the Trojans took an early lead. Arasmith added his second scoring run from 50 yards out for a 14-0 lead. Benson Berndt then added two touchdown runs as Beloit extended its lead to 30-0. Arasmith then hauled in a touchdown reception from Quinn Eilert and Berndt added his third rushing score.

1A EAST
St. Mary’s Colgan 40, Jayhawk-Linn 8 – Colgan forced six first-half turnovers on Thursday night in rolling past Jayhawk-Linn. The Panthers quickly built a 27-0 lead in the first quarter before standouts Tucker Harrell and Cooper Simmons exited the game due to injury. Colgan led 27-8 at halftime and Simmons later returned to add a touchdown.
St. Marys 26, Troy 0 – In a battle of ranked teams, St. Marys controlled the Troy passing attack and advanced to the state quarterfinals with a 26-0 victory. Quarterback Keller Hurla rushed for three touchdowns and James Rezac added a rushing score for the Bears.
Olpe 14, Pleasanton 0 – Olpe defeated Pleasanton for a second time this season. This time, the Eagles won a rainy affair, 14-0. Blake Redeker rushed for 152 yards and two touchdowns on the night. Redeker picked off a Pleasanton pass with four minutes left in the game to seal the victory. Olpe won the first meeting 27-0 during the regular season.
Centralia 34, Jefferson Co. North 8 – Centralia scored 22 points in the second half to pull away from Jeff Co. North, 34-8. Trenton Talley rushed for 170 yards and two scores in the win. Maveryk Becker and Drew Gibbs also added first-half scoring runs.
1A WEST
Wabaunsee 22, Marion 14 – Wabaunsee won a Regional football championship for the first time in school history by defeating Marion, 22-14. The Chargers and Warriors were tied 8-8 at halftime before Wabaunsee scored once in the third quarter and once in the fourth to lead 22-8. Marion would add a late touchdown but could get no closer.
Conway Springs 35, Plainville 31 – Conway Springs defeated Plainville in a close game for the third straight year. Conway Springs led 8-3 after the first quarter and 15-10 at halftime. Plainville pulled to within 21-18 after the third quarter. In the fourth, Conway Springs outscored Plainville, 14-6. Brayden Kunz enjoyed another huge performance with 34 carries for 319 yards and four scores. All of Conway Springs’ 426 yards came on the ground.
Smith Center 28, Sedgwick 0 – Smith Center went on the road and defeated Sedgwick, 28-0. The Redmen led 16-0 after the first quarter. The Redmen returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown and added another score in the first quarter. Smith Center extended its lead to 22-0 by halftime.
Inman 47, Oakley 0 – Inman traveled to Oakley and shut out the Plainsmen, 47-0. Inman and Oakley have played in each of the last three season in the playoffs. The Teutons have now won two of those meetings. Inman also defeated Oakley during the regular season in both 2020 and 2021.
Class 8-Man, Division I

Lyndon 50, Moundridge 0 – After a fourth-place finish in its district, Lyndon rolled into the state quarterfinals with a 50-0 shutout win at Moundridge. Evan Feuerborn rushed for 105 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Tigers. Carson Croucher added a pair of rushing touchdowns in the victory. The Tiger defense held Moundridge to 27 yards of total offense.
Burlingame 62, Wichita Independent 14 – Burlingame rolled into the state quarterfinals with a 52-14 win over Wichita Independent. Colby Middleton rushed for more than 200 yards and five touchdowns as the Bearcats rolled to nearly 300 rushing yards on the night. Dane Winters rushed for a pair of touchdowns and returned a punt for another score. Burlingame will take on Lyndon in next week’s quarterfinal. Lyndon handed the Bearcats their only loss of the season, 60-59, in Week 8.
Chase County 56, South Sumner Co. 38 – In a matchup of two ranked teams, No. 5 Chase County handed No. 3 South Sumner Co. its first loss of the season. South Sumner County led 30-24 after the first half. Mitch Budke enjoyed another massive game with 265 rushing yards and 65 passing yards. Chase County outgained the Outlaws, 457-343. South Sumner County led 30-24 before Budke had touchdowns of 42, 65, 12 and six yards. Budke recorded 14 tackles. Chase County (9-1) is into the state quarterfinals and has its most wins in 20-plus years.
Little River 60, Madison 14 – Little River has won nine in a row after a Week 1 loss to Canton-Galva. Madison, banged up throughout the season, especially at quarterback, was the only District 2 squad to lose in the Round of 16. Little River’s Braxton Lafferty rushed for 183 yards and six touchdowns in the win. Madison’s Bryson Turner rushed for 102 yards and two scores to push his season total to 1,429 yards and 33 scores.
8M-I WEST
Meade 30, Quinter 28 – Quinter was on the verge of another upset leading 28-18 at Meade in the fourth quarter. The defending-champion Buffaloes then scored two touchdowns in the final period to win 30-28. Meade pulled out the victory on a 53-yard touchdown pass with :28 seconds remaining.
Hill City 58, WaKeeney-Trego 12 – Hill City defeated Mid-Continent League’s WaKeeney-Trego for the second time this year. Aiden Amrein cleared 340 passing yards and four touchdowns. Kaleb Atkins recorded six all-purpose touchdowns: three receiving, one rushing, one passing and one kickoff return TD. Hill City led 20-6 after the first quarter. The Ringnecks (9-1) have made the quarterfinals for a second straight season. Hill City has outscored its last three opponents, 156-12.
Atwood-Rawlins Co. 48, Macksville 0 – In what was expected to be a close contest, Rawlins County rolled over previously undefeated Macksville. Drew Withington opened the game by returning the opening kickoff 79 yards for a score to give the Buffs the early lead. Atwood-Rawlins County rushed for 274 yards on the night and held Macksville to negative total yards. The Buffs improved to 8-2 on the season – winning eight games for the first time in 20 years.
Leoti-Wichita County 64, Hoxie 20 – Wichita County defeated Hoxie for a second time this season, 64-20. Wichita County beat Hoxie 56-28 during the regular season. Hoxie eliminated Wichita County 66-58 in the first-round last season. The top-ranked Indians will travel to Atwood-Rawlins County next week.

Lebo 46, Frankfort 0 – Lebo scored 30 points in the first quarter in rolling past Frankfort, 46-0, in a game that ended at halftime. Corey Reese rushed for 113 yards and three touchdowns on the night. Drew Konrade also added a pair of short rushing touchdowns. The Wolves held Frankfort to 49 yards of total offense on 26 plays.
Canton-Galva 62, Hanover 8 – Canton-Galva led 34-0 after the first quarter in a game that ended at halftime. The Eagles outgained Hanover, 351-49. Garrett Maltbie completed four of seven passes for 57 yards and a score. Lane McMannis had seven carries for 107 yards and three TDs. Cason Mastre delivered three catches for 39 yards and a score. McMannis has three rushing scores, while Maltbie delivered one passing and four rushing TDs.
Axtell 50, Hutchinson Central Christian 0 – Axtell led 36-0 after the first quarter in a game that ended at halftime. Axtell has won 23 straight contests. Isaac Detweiler rushed four times for 74 yards and three scores. Eli Broxterman and Brandon Schmelzle combined for three rushing TDs.
Osborne 34, Colony-Crest 18 – Osborne scored a pair of touchdowns in the fourth quarter to secure a 34-18 win over visiting Colony-Crest. Holden Barker pulled the Lancers to within 20-18 at the end of the third quarter. That is all the closer Crest would get. The Lancers recovered an Osborne fumble deep in Bulldog territory, but couldn’t convert the turnover into points. Connor Schurr then scored from 16 yards out to give Osborne a 28-18 lead.

Victoria 53, Minneola 28 – Minneola led 8-6 after the first quarter, and Victoria scored 20 unanswered points in the second quarter to pull ahead. The Knights have made the state semifinals the last two years and will have a huge home matchup against No. 4 Thunder Ridge (9-1) in the state quarterfinals. Victoria outgained Minneola, 410-395. Carson Werth had 11 carries for 110 yards, while Taylor Anderson, known for his defense, had 13 carries for 104 yards and four scores. Chase Schumacher delivered seven carries for 86 yards and a TD. Victoria scored 26 unanswered points on TD runs of 25 and three yards from Anderson, and a pair of three-yard runs from Thaddeus Wohler.
Thunder Ridge 50, Hodgeman County 0 – Thunder Ridge rolled to a 50-0 win over Hodgeman County in a game that ended at halftime. The host Longhorns have won seven straight and delivered 50.9 points a game. In all those wins, Thunder Ridge has won by the 45-point margin and allowed just 24 total points.
Sharon Springs-Wallace Co. 56, Bucklin 8 – Wallace County advanced to the quarterfinal round with a 56-8 win over Bucklin. Tyler Korbe scored six touchdowns to lead the Wildcats. Wallace County will host Dighton in the next round.
Dighton 52, Sylvan-Lucas 28 – Dighton advanced to the quarterfinals with a 52-28 home win over Sylvan-Lucas. Carson Shimer threw a pair of touchdown passes late in the first half to extend the Dighton lead to 30-12 at the break. Shimer threw three touchdown passes on the night – two to Jack Jenkinson and one to Max Neeley. Neeley also rushed for three scores and more than 115 yards on the night.

Waverly 52, Pawnee Heights 18 – Waverly remained undefeated with a 52-18 win over Pawnee Heights. The Bulldogs led 19-12 at halftime and widened the margin to 46-18 in the third quarter with four touchdowns. Waverly will host Tescott in the quarterfinals next week.
Tescott 40, Peabody-Burns 12 – Tescott advanced to the quarterfinals by defeating Peabody-Burns for the second time this season. The Trojans led 26-6 at the half and added a touchdown in each of the third and fourth quarters. Tescott defeated Peabody 43-6 in the season-opener. Tescott is into the quarterfinals for the first time since 2007.
Cunningham 65, Natoma 0 – Last season, Natoma defeated Cunningham for the six-man Wild West Bowl state title. Cunningham defeated Natoma, 47-0, in Week 2 and delivered another shutout Thursday. Cunningham has five shutouts this year and allowed just 19 points since Week 1.
Wetmore 63, Burrton 7 – Wetmore improved to 7-2 with a dominant 63-7 first-half win over Burrton. With their seventh win, the Cardinals have now matched their win total from 2015-2021. The Cardinals will now travel to top-ranked Cunningham in the quarterfinals.

Ashland 62, Golden Plains 14 – Ashland scored 36 points in the first quarter and 26 more in the second in a 62-14 win over Golden Plains. The Blue Jays have won seven consecutive games since their Week 1 loss to Cunningham.
Northern Valley 58, Deerfield 0 – Northern Valley has now won five straight games since a 49-48 loss to Cheylin. The Huskies other loss came 25-24 to Tescott. Northern Valley rolled to a 58-0 win over Deerfield on Friday. The Spartans made incredible progress this season under Adam Leroux, finishing 5-4, their most wins since 2010.
Cheylin 53, Moscow 7 – Cheylin rolled to a 53-7 win over Moscow on Friday. The Cougars have won six straight since their only loss of the season – 50-28 to Ashland back in Week 3.
Ingalls 45, Tribune-Greeley County 0 – Ingalls improved to 6-2 with a 45-0 win over Tribune-Greeley County. It is the Bulldogs’ second win over the Jackrabbits this season. Ingalls defeated Greeley County 41-19 in the season-opener.
