Class 3A

District 1

  • Galena (4-0) at Baxter Springs (0-4) – Galena has already wrapped up the District 1 championship by virtue of their win over Parsons. The Bulldogs will be heavy favorites at Baxter Springs this week if they play. Baxter forfeited last week’s game due to a lack of healthy players.
  • Cherryvale (1-3) at Parsons (3-1) – Parsons has cliched the district runner-up spot by virtue of wins over Columbus and Caney Valley – the only two team that could tie them in the standings with a Viking loss. Cherryvale has been eliminated. The Chargers could upset Parsons and finish 2-3 in district play, but would lose the head-to-head tiebreaker with the loser of this week’s Columbus/Caney Valley matchup.
  • Caney Valley (2-2) at Columbus (2-2) – Both teams have clinched a playoff spot. The winner of this week’s game finishes third in District 1, while the loser finishes 4th.

District 2

  • Frontenac (4-0) at Girard (4-0) – This CNC showdown will act as the District 2 championship game. The loser will qualify as the district runner-up.
  • Anderson County (0-4) at Prairie View (2-2) – Prairie View has already sewn up a third-place finish in District 2. Should the Buffaloes lose to Anderson County, they would still hold the head-to-head tiebreaker over Iola and Burlington.
  • Iola (1-3) at Burlington (1-3) – This is essentially an early playoff game as the winner qualifies for the playoffs in the fourth spot, while the loser is left out of the bracket.

District 3

  • Bishop Ward (3-1) at Topeka Hayden (4-0) – Hayden clinches the District 3 title with a win, while Bishop Ward can win the district by beating Hayden by 16 or more points. Ward can also clinch the title with a win coupled with a Santa Fe Trial victory over Perry-Lecompton. Bishop Ward has qualified for the playoffs for the first time since 2013, meanwhile Hayden has reached the playoffs for the 20th consecutive season.
  • Perry-Lecompton (3-1) at Santa Fe Trail (2-2) – Both teams are playoff bound but this game will help to determine seeds. Santa Fe Trail can finish as high as third in the district by beating Perry and Ward beating Hayden. The Kaws can finish as high as the district runners-up with a win.
  • Baldwin (0-4) at Osawatomie (0-4) – Both the Bulldogs and the Trojans have been eliminated from playoff consideration.

District 4

  • Jefferson West (1-3) at Holton (4-0) – Holton has clinched the District 4 championship with last week’s win over Rock Creek. Jeff West has been eliminated. The Tigers could upset Holton and finish 2-3 in district play, but would lose the head-to-head tiebreaker with the loser of this week’s Hiawatha/Sabetha matchup.
  • Rock Creek (3-1) at Royal Valley (0-4) – Rock Creek has cliched the district runner-up spot by virtue of wins over Hiawatha and Sabetha – the only two team that could tie them in the standings with a Mustang loss to Royal Valley.
  • Hiawatha (2-2) at Sabetha (2-2) – Both teams have clinched a playoff spot. The winner of this week’s game finishes third in District 4, while the loser finishes fourth. Hiawatha has qualified for the playoffs for the first time since 2013.

District 5

  • Riley County (4-0) at Marysville (2-2) – Riley County has already clinched the district title with wins over both Concordia and Chapman. Marysville is guaranteed the fourth-place finish regardless of this week’s results.
  • Concordia (3-1) at Chapman (3-1) – The winner of this one finishes as the district runner-up, while the loser finishes third.
  • Council Grove (0-4) at Clay Center (0-4) – Both the Braves and the Tigers have been eliminated from playoff consideration.

District 6

  • Southeast of Saline (4-0) at Scott City (2-2) – Southeast of Saline has clinched the District 6 title by virtue of their four wins and two-game lead entering the final week.
  • Colby (2-2) at Goodland (1-3) – Colby clinches a playoff spot with a win. There are several other scenarios open given how close the district standings are. Colby holds head-to-head tiebreakers over Smoky Valley and Scott City. Goodland’s lone district win is over Russell.
  • Russell (2-2) at Smoky Valley (1-3) – A Russell win puts the Broncos in the playoffs. There are several other scenarios open given how close the district standings are. Russell holds head-to-head tiebreakers over Colby and Scott City. Smoky Valley’s lone district win is over Goodland.

District 7

  • Wichita Collegiate (4-0) at Andale (4-0) – The winner is the District 7 champion, the loser is the runner-up.
  • Clearwater (2-2) at Hesston (2-2) – The winner qualifies as the third-place team out of District 7, while the loser finishes fourth.
  • Wichita Trinity (0-4) at Halstead (0-4) – Both the Knights and the Dragons have been eliminated from playoff consideration. Trinity Academy is still seeking the schools’ first playoff appearance after 14 seasons.

District 8

  • Cheney (4-0) at Larned (1-3) – Cheney has already clinched the District 8 title by virtue of its win over Holcomb – the only team that can mathematically tie the Cardinals in the standings.
  • Holcomb (3-1) at Hugoton (2-2) – Holcomb has clinched a playoff spot and will be the runner-up with a win over Hugoton. A win by Hugoton could create a three-way tie depending on Pratt’s result against Nickerson.
  • Nickerson (0-4) at Pratt (2-2) – Nickerson has been eliminated. Pratt can wrap up the third-place finish with a win.
