Check out the top five polls as the regular season is over for all classifications.
Class 6A
There was no movement in the Class 6A rankings after the first week of the postseason. Top-ranked Lawrence Free State took care of business in the first round, topping Wichita North 69-6. The Firebirds are at home against Junction City on Friday.
No. 2 Shawnee Mission East kept Gardner-Edgerton winless with a 42-28 victory. The Lancers advanced to face Olathe Northwest.
Derby improved to 8-1 with a 49-13 win over Dodge City. The Panthers advanced to the second round and will travel to face fifth-ranked Manhattan.
Wichita Northwest topped Wichita Southeast for the second consecutive week, beating the Buffaloes 68-28. Wichita Northwest beat Wichita Southeast 68-8 last week. The Grizzlies will face Haysville Campus in the second round of the playoffs.
Manhattan earned a 21-0 win over Wichita East in the first round. Now, the Indians will face No. 3 Derby.
Class 5A
Just like in 6A, the rankings remain unchanged after the first round of the playoffs. Goddard remained undefeated and maintained its top spot in the rankings with a 60-13 win over Salina Central. The Lions will face Andover in the second round.
St. Thomas Aquinas breezed through the first round of the playoffs, crushing winless KC Harmon 52-0. The Saints earned a home game against Bonner Springs in the second round.
Bishop Carroll won its fourth game in a row, topping Arkansas City 66-38 in the first round. The Eagles will now face a tough game against Kapaun Mt. Carmel. Bishop Carroll edged Kapaun 30-22 two weeks ago.
No. 4 Wichita Heights improved to 6-3 with a 41-26 victory over Newton. The Falcons are 6-1 in their last seven games after starting the season 0-2. Heights will travel to face No. 5 Maize on Friday.
Maize improved its win streak to six games with a 52-6 win over Topeka West. The Eagles will now face Wichita Heights with a spot in the quarterfinals on the line.
Class 4A-I
There were no changes in the Class 4A Division I playoffs after the final week of district competition. The win streak for Bishop Miege is now up to 21 games after a 62-14 win over Spring Hill. The Stags will meet Basehor-Linwood in the first round of the playoffs.
Andale improved to 9-0 after an easy 66-13 win over El Dorado. The Indians will open the postseason with a home game against Wamego.
A week after dropping its first game of the season to Bishop Miege, De Soto rebounded with a 44-0 win over Eudora. The Wildcats will travel to face Tonganoxie in the first round.
Maize South finished district play with a 3-0 record after beating Andover Central 23-13. The Mavericks have limited opponents to 14 points or fewer in six of nine games. Mazie South will open the playoffs at home against Wellington.
McPherson rolled to its seventh straight win, dropping Abilene 49-6. However, the Bullpups drew a difficult draw in the first round and will have to face Buhler, which was ranked most of the season. McPherson topped Buhler 33-21 in the first week. Buhler, however, boasts wins over Maize South and Wichita Collegiate.
Class 4A-II
Ranked No. 3 last week, Pratt failed to make the postseason after dropping its second consecutive game, this time 39-25 to Kingman. Topeka Hayden and Smoky Valley each moved up a spot in the rankings, and Nickerson moved in at No. 5.
Scott City retained its top spot in the rankings with a 28-12 win against Concordia. The Beavers will open the postseason against Kingman, which knocked off Pratt last week.
Holcomb closed out the regular season with a 33-14 win over Hugoton. Now, Holcomb will receive a rematch against Colby, which it defeated 27-0 earlier in the season.
Topeka Hayden moved up to No. 3 in the rankings after edging Jefferson West 35-28. The Wildcats went 3-0 in districts after starting the season with a 2-4 record. Hayden opens the playoffs with a home game against Prairie View.
Smoky Valley moved up one spot in the rankings to No. 4 after recording a 30-16 win at Clay Center. The Vikings are now on a seven-game winning streak and will host Wichita Collegiate in the first round.
Nickerson is in the rankings after a 14-0 win over Clearwater. The Panthers will be at home against Clay Center on Friday.
Class 3A
The 3A rankings remained unchanged after all five teams closed out the regular season with 9-0 records. Nemaha Central cruised past Hiawatha 56-0. The Thunder will open the postseason against Pleasant Ridge on Tuesday.
No. 2 Phillipsburg breezed by Russell 56-6. The Panthers have held opponents to eight points or fewer in seven of nine games. The Panthers will be at home against Riley County on Tuesday.
Conway Springs maintained its perfect record with a 55-19 win against Chaparral. The Cardinals will now face Wichita Independent, which they beat 60-0 in Week 2.
Perennial 3A power Silver Lake topped Royal Valley 53-0. The Eagles will open the playoffs at home against Mission Valley.
Galena improved to 7-0 in a competitive Crawford-Neosho-Cherokee League with a 59-7 win over rival Riverton. The Bulldogs will now turn their attention to Neodesha.
Class 2-1A
There was some movement in the rankings after then No. 2 Lyndon fell 41-33 in five overtimes to rival Olpe. The loss dropped the Tigers to fifth.
Smith Center stayed atop the rankings with a 54-0 win against Ell-Saline. The Redmen outscored its district opponents by a combined score of 202-0. Smith Center will be at home against Medicine Lodge on Friday.
Jefferson Co. North moved up one spot to No. 2 after a 58-12 win over McLouth. The Chargers will host Jackson Heights in the first round.
Centralia is now No. 3 in the rankings after beating Jackson Heights 32-14. The Panthers will now host Doniphan West, which it beat 58-6 earlier in the season.
St. Mary’s-Colgan is up to No. 4 in the rankings after completing a perfect 3-0 district record with a 57-8 win over Uniontown. However, the Panthers drew a tough first-round opponent as they must face No. 5 Lyndon in the first round. The game will be played Friday at Pittsburg State University.
Class 8M-I
There were no changes in the rankings as teams concluded district play. Burlingame improved to 9-0 with a 68-0 victory over Herington. The Bearcats will face Victoria in the first round.
No. 2 Spearville kept Kinsley winless with a 46-0 victory. The Royal Lancers will host No. 4 St. Francis on Friday. St. Francis is coming off a 58-0 win over Wakeeney-Trego.
Osborne earned a 54-0 shutout over Lincoln to close out the regular season. The Bulldogs will host Clifton Clyde.
Hoxie maintained its No. 5 ranking after a 50-0 win against Oberlin-Decatur Co. Next up for the Indians is Ness City.
Class 8M-II
Hodgeman County is out of the rankings after losing 58-26 to No. 3 Otis-Bison. Mankato-Rocks Hills moved into the No. 5 spot.
Hanover kept its top spot with a 54-8 win over Axtell. The Wildcats will host Mankato-Rock Hills in the first round.
Pike Valley improved to 9-0 with a 56-6 win over Linn. The Panthers will open against Axtell.
Fresh off the win over Hodgeman County, Otis-Bison will host Sylvan-Lucas Unified on Friday.
Hutchinson Central Christian moved up one spot to No. 4 after an impressive 74-28 win over previously undefeated Caldwell. The Cougars will host Pleasanton to open the playoffs.
