Kpreps and the Get Busy Livin’ Foundation wish to extend our thoughts and prayers to former Bishop Carroll standout Denzel Goolsby after the sudden death of his father, Les Goolsby.

Goolsby was named the 2014 Dylan Meier-Get Busy Livin’ Player of the Year earlier this spring, and more recently was named the Barry Sanders High School Male Athlete of the Year at the Greater Wichita Sports Banquet.

Goolsby posted the following message via his twitter account @DenzelGoolsby on June 25, 2015.

Exactly one year ago from today I committed to Kansas State University for football on a full ride scholarship. Just yesterday I received word that my father had a brain aneurism in the middle of the night and I had to drive home from K-State to tell him goodbye for the last time at the hospital before they took him off life support. It’s amazing how much your life can change in literally just one year which is why you have to count your blessings every single time you wake up and take nothing for granted. With God on my side, nothing can break me. Don’t let hardship knock you down, after all, stars can’t shine without darkness.
