Aquinas runs past Northwest to capture first state title
St. Thomas Aquinas captured the schools' first state football championship with a 49-28 victory over Wichita Northwest on Saturday. The Saints rushed for 360 yards including 329 yards and four touchdowns from sophomore Tank Young.

St. Thomas Aquinas (11-0) will take on Wichita Northwest (12-0) in a highly anticipated showdown in the Class 5A state championship game. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m. at Pittsburg State's Carnie Smith Stadium.
