Watch Bishop Carroll take on St. Thomas Aquinas for the Class 5A state title live on Kpreps.com on Saturday.

Kpreps.com is pleased to announce that it will partner with Mytown Media and the Pittsburg State University Department of Communication to produce the Kansas Class 5A State Football Championship from Carnie Smith Stadium in Pittsburg, KS. The live video broadcast will be streamed on Kpreps.com on Saturday, November 29th.

"We've been trying to incorporate more live video over the past year and this is a really exciting step for our site," said Kpreps Editor Matt Gilmore.  "We are appreciative to our partners at Mytown Media and the PSU Department of Communication for being a part of this joint-production. It will be the first time we've ever been a part of producing a high-quality, TV-like event to viewers across the state."

PSU students will direct and produce the broadcast, run cameras, design graphics, and control the feed to the "Jungletron" - Pitt State's state of the art stadium video screen.

"We have a lot of very talented students in our program and this gives them an opportunity to gain quality experience by being part of a big-time live event," said PSU Department of Communication Assistant Professor Trent Kling.

"There will probably be 10-15 students playing in a role in the production. We should be able to provide fans with a really great viewing experience both live and for on-demand viewing."

Mytown Media's Mike Snow, station manager of ESPN 100.7 FM in Pittsburg and host of the Kpreps Kansas Pregame Show, will do play-by-play for the event with Kpreps' Matt Gilmore providing color commentary.

The event is sanctioned by the Kansas High School Activities Association.
