As the Gorillas prepare for the 2014 Spring Game this Saturday, its hard to believe that we are more than two years removed from the national championship run of 2011. And even though it took a few years, Gorilla fans will now have a collector's item to keep that memory fresh in their minds forever.
Teamkong is pleased to announce that 2011 National Championship commemorative prints are now available for sale on teamkong.com. The print will be sold and distributed by Teamkong, in partnership with Pittsburg State University. Part of the proceeds will be donated as a gift for the Indoor Event Facility, naming the 2011 team the benefactor.

And it is fitting that one of the players who lead the Gorillas on that historic title run was an integral part in making this available for Pitt State players, coaches, and fans.
Former Pitt State quarterback and member of the 2011 Pitt State Football National Championship team, Zac Dickey wanted to create some type of memorabilia for himself and his teammates, to reflect back on the 2011 National Championship season. He thought designing a commemorative print would be the ideal collector's item for Pitt State football players, coaches, and fans.
“I talked to some of my teammates and we agreed that it would be great to have something to remember that historic season,” Dickey said.
A graduate of St. Mary’s Colgan High School, Dickey contacted longtime friend and former high school teammate, Joe Wachter and presented the idea to him.
“I knew Joe worked in the athletics department at Wichita State and had designed a print for the Shockers' Final Four run a year ago,” Dickey said. “Once I saw that, I knew we could make something similar happen for Pittsburg State.”
The print is made up of action shots of 22 key players from the 2011 National Championship team, as well as, head coach Tim Beck. Team Kong founder Wayne Gilmore provided for the photos that were used in the print design.
"This print is outstanding," Gilmore said. "Carla Wehmeyer, Justin Beasley, Matthew Hicks, and Kenny Felt are outstanding photographers and their photos, along with Joe's creativity, produced something special for Gorilla Nation. Teamkong is proud to play a part in this project for the fans of Pitt State football."
