When it comes down to picking a list of the top boys high school basketball players across the state of Kansas, a few instantly come to mind. One of those would be senior all-state guard, Trevon Evans, of Goddard-Eisenhower.
The senior captain is the complete package for the Class 5A #2 ranked Tigers (8-0). He has averaged 23.2 points per game this season, with four of those games being at least 25 points. Evans is not just a flashy scorer, he dishes out 3.4 assists per game, picks up 3.5 boards per game, and also averages 2.8 steals. Evans, who stands 6 feet tall, has also managed to block eight shots on the season.
His breakout junior year in 2012-2013, where he averaged 25.3 points per game, put him on the map across the state of Kansas. It was a huge step up from his sophomore campaign where he averaged around 12 points per contest. For his play he earned first team all-state honors from Kansas-Sports.com last season in addition to several other honors statewide.
Evans is also a big time dunker, which is incredible for his size. He has picked up three division one offers and will look to contend for all-state honors once again this season.
Evans will look to lead the Tigers to a deep run in 5A this season. The Tigers, coached by Steve Blue, will take on rival Goddard this Friday. We caught up with Evans below...
